Common Errors Caused by Drivers

Hardware drivers play a very important role in every computer. Whatever operating system or platform you are using, you have to be very wary of the driver versions that your computer has. There are many computer errors that arise from erroneous or outdated hardware drivers. As an informed computer user, you have to be on top of your drivers list and ensure that everything is working fine to continue the smooth operation of your system.

Wrong computer drivers can crash your system. There are errors that are directly caused by faulty drivers. Try to be more concerned of the following common errors caused by drivers:

1. Driver conflicts

Driver conflicts can be the biggest headache of all. Conflicts occur when two hardware drivers are using the same resources. When this happens, there will be a bang on device manager, shown as a yellow exclamation point on the device name. Resolving the conflict would take out the bang and address the problem. It is possible to manually adjust the resources used by the drivers. However, the best solution is to uninstall and reinstall the conflicting drivers so your operating system can assign a free resource during reinstall.

2. Buffer errors

Buffer errors are another common error caused by drivers. These are caused by bugs in the drivers. Drivers are a set of programming language which is used by the hardware to communicate with the operating system. If there are flaws in the programming, buffer errors can be expected. The solution would be to obtain updated drivers from the hardware manufacturer.

3. Registry errors

There are certain registry errors that signify a faulty driver. These are Stop errors that usually appear during boot up. Some of these errors are so grave they prevent your computer from booting at all. To correct this, the reinstallation of the operating system may be necessary.

4. Blue Screen of Death errors

Blue screen of death are the errors every computer user detests. These errors paralyze the computer entirely. They are shown on the monitor or screen even before Windows or your platform loads. It freezes the computer and you would not see the desktop at all. Oftentimes, the error can’t be bypassed even if you attempt to load safe mode. Total recovery of the registry, repair of the operating system, or a clean reinstall of the platform are required to address these errors.
